The Chipping Community Energy Project, supported and funded by the Rural Community Energy Fund, uses a closed-loop Ground-Source Heat Pump for a shared network among 25 houses to bring down carbon emissions and save on utilities.

A GSHP is an excellent low-carbon heating system, with a long lifespan, making them a worthwhile long-term investment to reduce heating bills. By having a shared network, the community mitigates the typical high investment in installation and benefits from consistent renewable hot water and heating.

Lùths assisted the Chipping Community group and Prospus with energy modelling, onsite energy audits with thermography and air tightness testing and a feasibility report. We also did the in situ Thermal response test and outline borehole network sizing.
